The sugar cane industry has an estimated shortfall of 400 positions (mainly haul-out operators for tractors and trucks) leading into the 2008 harvest due to start, in come districts, from May. LISTINGS
Looking for harvest work: I am a fit 68yr retired early and hold a HC licence. Would prefer to drive headers (although no header exp). Have experience in farm tractors, am reliable and would like to get back into workforce part time and if successful would do this on a seasonal basis. We are travelling with our own van and are presently at Toowoomba but prepared to travel.
