Marvel at many of the innovative implements and machines developed for the industry.
Examine the pioneering methods and processes on informative videos in the 50 seat theatre and at audio visual stations throughout the Museum.

Examine how sugar has shaped the culture of much of Queensland’s east coast and greatly contributed to the formation of our national identity.

The museum has on permanent display, historic tractors, locomotives, harvesters, implements and a working model of a 500 hp steam-driven crushing engine.

Displays dedicated to aspects of the industry’s heritage and processes are explored through contemporary and historical photographs, books, documents, artefacts and audio-visual material.
The Museum celebrates the industry’s multicultural heritage. It records the experience and contribution of South Sea Islanders, and Asian and European migrants.

It investigates the cultural influence the industry has had on Australia.

Investigate the drama of steam and fire, of indentured labour and mechanical harvesting, of pests and the environment ... and more.”

“Learn about the people who have made the industry.
