Joseph Evans has been with CANEGROWERS since 1993. During this time he has worked for several regional Queensland offices and also the state body, CANEGROWERS Queensland, where he is currently the Manager for Industry Programs.


Joseph has spent considerable time on a range of industry programs, in particular the $1.8 million Rural Water Use Efficiency sugar program, which has provided benefits more than $5 million for sugarcane growers. He also heads up the Farm Management Systems project. Joseph’s portfolio includes transport, including licencing, fuel schemes and agricultural vehicle regulations. Government schemes and assistance, including the provision of grower assistance during droughts, floods, and cyclones, are amongst his other portfolio areas.


Joseph grew up at Lakeland Downs in Far North Queensland and has studied a Bachelor of Agricultural Science, majoring in Agricultural Economics at the University of Queensland, and a MBA from the University of Southern Queensland.
