Ron Mullins is CANEGROWERS Chief Operating Officer. Ron’s career with CANEGROWERS commenced in the Burdekin district over 44 years ago, followed by a number of managerial positions in the Mackay and Tully districts.

Ron’s current role supports the CEO of CANEGROWERS, in enhancing organisational strength and effectiveness through the implementation of strategic planning and direction, including policy oversight. His direct responsibilities involve the enhancement of member services and district relations, oversight of the operational aspects of the business (including human resources, training, financial, administration, legal services, company secretariat) and maximising external revenue and minimising costs.

Recent appointments involve Ron in the area of rural labour and skilling. These include being a member of the Queensland Government’s Rural Skilling Strategy Industry Advisory Group and the Gateway School in Agriculture.

Ron is a company secretary to a number of CANEGROWERS companies and is a Director of CANEGROWERS Superannuation and CANEGROWERS Financial Services companies.
Ron has undertaken sugar industry study tours to Thailand, South Africa, Brazil and the USA in recent years.
