Rajinder Singh

Rajinder Singh is a Director of CANEGROWERS Tableland and a Director of CANEGROWERS Queensland.


Part of a family farming operation growing 70,000 tonnes of sugarcane on the Tableland and in the Mulgrave area, Rajinder has a Bachelor of Engineering from University of Queensland and a strong interest in research and development


A lifetime cane grower, Rajinder is currently involved in a number of farming system projects. He is currently involved in a SRDC project looking at the implementation of a 2 metre farming system in Far North Queensland. This involves adoption of controlled traffic, minimum tillage, break cropping, and harvester modifications allowing transition from current row spacings. He also has an interest in precision agriculture, and is a participant on the industry advisory panel for an SRDC project looking its possibility as an avenue for profitable innovation in the Australian sugar industry, or whether it is an expensive technology we can do without.


Rajinder is keen on the development of ethanol and biodiesel from sugarcane as well other bio refining and value adding opportunities.
