GIVE GROWERS A STRONG VOICE IN STL: CANEGROWERS urges all growers to vote
Sugar Terminals Limited (STL) will be running elections for a grower director, who will be overseeing that STL assets are maintained in A1 condition, looking for other avenues of revenue through the terminals and maximising returns to shareholders.
CANEGROWERS endorsed candidate is Mossman cane grower Drew Watson, as recommended by the CANEGROWERS State board.
As there are a couple of large shareholding blocks within STL, it is important that individual growers return their ballot papers and make their voice heard.
CANEGROWERS is calling on all members to exercise their right to vote when they receive the proxy papers in the mail, and VOTE 1: DONALD (DREW) ANDREW WATSON
About Drew Watson
Drew Watson is a fourth generation Mossman sugarcane grower and together with his brother grows 500ha of cane.
He has served on the CANEGROWERS Mossman Committee since 1990 and been its Chairman since 2001.
Drew has served on the CANEGROWERS Queensland Board for a decade. Now in his third term with the State Board, he says it is a position which gives him the opportunity to regularly exchange ideas with every cane growing district in Queensland, and gives him a broad industry view and some understanding of the issues in each region.
The directorship of STL needs a grower with a strong focus on the wellbeing of the STL company in particular.CANEGROWERS believes it is important to concentrate grower votes to one candidate with strong ties to the Queensland Cane Growers Organisation, and is putting forward Drew Watson as its preferred candidate.
