Australian growers are the only sugar producers in the world fully exposed to a world sugar market which is distorted by interventions such as price supports and subsidies in other producing nations. Removing these distortions will enhance underlying sugar market values.

With 80% of Australia’s production destined to export markets, CANEGROWERS argues that sugar should be meaningfully included in all trade agreements, multilateral, regional or bilateral.
