CANEGROWERS Elections 2019

CANEGROWERS Elections 2019

Every three years, CANEGROWERS holds elections. Every eligible member can nominate for the Board of their local organisation and every member can vote.

CANEGROWERS encourages men and women of all ages to put their names forward. Each district CANEGROWERS election is a democratic process which seeks to have the best candidates representing their fellow cane growers. A Board role can lead to a position on the CANEGROWERS Policy Council and the Queensland Cane Growers Organisation Board.

Elected representatives are in the front seat to contribute to the activities and direction
of our organisation and industry.
It is a rewarding and challenging role.

Following a successful call for nominations, and ballots in five districts, the outcome has been declared and the new boards and committees took office from 1 May 2019. All elected representatives were invited to a Directors Induction meeting in Cairns in May. The final step in the CANEGROWERS Elections 2019 process was a Policy Council meeting to which every district sent a delegate. The QCGO Board and Chairman for the next three years has been determined. The Chairman of CANEGROWERS Queensland is Paul Schembri. Visit this link for details of the current Policy Council and Board. The full list of elected representatives is below.
