Do you have questions about sugar?

CANEGROWERS and the Australian Sugar Milling Council have created a website www.sugar.org.au to answer some of the many questions we're asked about sugar.
We are not health professionals but as a raw sugar industry, we want to ensure that balance and accurate information is available to everyone.

Sugar Research Australia (SRA) invests in and manages the research and development efforts of the sugar industry. It is funded by a statutory levy paid by grower and miller businesses and funds and grants from government and other bodies.
The SRA website has information and advice on varieties of sugarcane, farming systems (including soil health and nutrient management), pests and diseases and weeds.

Queensland Sugar Limited (QSL) is the industry-owned marketer of raw sugar.
It manages the majority of Australia's raw sugar exports, maintaining business partnerships with sugar refiners in the Asia-Pacific region.
Its website contains pricing information for growers and access to regular market updates.

Sugar Terminals Limited (STL) owns bulk export facilities at the ports of Cairns, Mourilyan, Lucinda, Townsville, Mackay and Bundaberg in Queensland.
STL is owned by growers and millers and the terminals are managed by QSL under a leasing arrangement. The STL wesite has information for shareholders.

The Australian Sugar Milling Council is the peak body for raw sugar mill owners in Australia. Its website lists its members and has recent industry production statistics.
