Warren Males

Warren Males is the Head - Economics at CANEGROWERS.

Warren has more than 25 years of executive management experience in the sugar industry in roles spanning marketing, logistics, risk management and international trade and market access having worked for QSL and ASMC. He joined CANEGROWERS in January 2012.  

He manages the sugar industry’s trade and market access portfolio, coordinates the Global Sugar Alliance and was an architect of Australia, Brazil and Thailand’s successful challenge taken in the World Trade Organisation against European Union sugar export subsidies.

In pursuing the interests of the sugar industry, Warren works closely with government and, as a member of the National Farmers' Federation Trade and Competitiveness Committee and other Australian agricultural industries.

With his depth of experience and broad of understanding of sugar industry issues, Warren manages CANEGROWERS relationship with QSL and grower pricing issues. He also works closely with growers and the Queensland government on issues related to irrigation, water and electricity pricing.

Warren holds a Bachelor of Economics Degree with Honours from the University of Tasmania, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Queensland (where he was admitted to the Dean’s Honour Roll for outstanding academic performance) and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (diploma awarded with merit).

Warren is Chairman of the Australian Sugar industry Alliance’s Sugarcane – Gene Technology Group.
