Changes to Flotation Tyres Mass Exemption Notice
The Queensland Class 3 Tandem Drive Axle (Cane Haulout Truck) Flotation Tyres Mass Exemption Notice has been amended to include the BKT MPTFL633 PERFORMA 164J flotation tyre, with the amended notice taking effect from the 29th of August 2025.
Queensland CANEGROWERS formally requested the amendment and worked with the tyre manufactures agent in Australia and the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator to compile the necessary technical information needed to have the notice changed.
This change provides growers and contractors with an additional approved tyre option within the conditions of the notice, giving them greater flexibility in their business operations, whilst ensuring haulout trucks can continue to operate safely during harvest. The amendment is a direct outcome of advocacy by CANEGROWERS Queensland.
