We all know them - the ones who’ve kept things ticking when times were tough, pitched in for their mates, or had a crack at doing things better. The kind of people everyone knows by name – but for the right reasons.
As part of the CANEGROWERS Centenary celebrations, we’re shining a light on these local champions - not just the legends of the past, but the ones shaping the industry today and those coming through for tomorrow - the growers who’ve made their mark on their patch of cane country.
Maybe it’s the old hand who’s seen it all, the quiet achiever who never says no when someone needs a hand, or the young gun who’s already making waves in the district.
It doesn’t matter if they’re a great grower, a great innovator, or just a bloody great mate - we want to celebrate them.
