George is back!

You might recall that late last year the George the Farmer crew teamed up with growers and staff from CANEGROWERS Cairns Region to release the catchy tune The Sugarcane Train.

Well, George is back – this time with a sweet new sugarcane-themed classroom experiment that teaches kids how to make their own rock candy.

The explainer video – which you can watch here – also comes with curriculum-aligned teacher resources that tie the experiment back to both agriculture and science.

Most importantly, it’s a fun and engaging way to get young kids thinking about the sugarcane industry and where sugar comes from.

That early connection can then be built on in later grades through CANEGROWERS’ more detailed classroom resources focused on agriculture, science and career pathways.
