Rural Discovery Return

One way we’re helping educate young Queenslanders about the sugarcane industry is through Rural Discovery, which will be held at the RNA Showgrounds in Brisbane this week.

CANEGROWERS will have a stand at the event for the first time since COVID brought it to a halt in 2020. Previously just Rural Discovery Day, the event has now expanded into a week-long program expected to host thousands of school students across five days.

Kids visiting the CANEGROWERS stand will learn how cane is grown and crushed, and how it can be transformed into everything from sugar and renewable electricity to bioplastics and even sustainable aviation fuel.
