What's new in the industry - it's all here in the Australian Canegrower
They didn’t grow up in cane. They chose it and have built a legacy from scratch. Thirty years ago, Andrew Apap, pictured above with son Luke, left Sydney with his wife Maree and a strong belief they could successfully farm in one of the wettest farming regions in the country.
Fast forward three decades and the Tully growers have weathered cyclones, floods, market shifts and Panama risk — transforming banana paddocks back to cane, redesigning paddocks for productivity, and setting the farm up for the next generation, with Luke already driving the future.
Theirs is a story about smart decisions, hard seasons, clean seed, better drainage and the quiet force that holds it all together: family.
