Jodie Mittelheuser is the Chief Financial Officer at CANEGROWERS, bringing more than 25 years of experience across accounting, compliance, administration, human resources, and operational leadership.
In her role as CFO, Jodie leads the organisation’s financial strategy and operations, ensuring strong financial governance, accurate reporting, and sustainable growth. She manages the finance team, maintains robust internal controls, and provides timely financial reporting and analysis to the CEO and Board. Jodie is instrumental in delivering strategic financial insights to support executive decision-making and long-term organisational planning.
Her responsibilities extend to overseeing the insurance business unit, managing the organisation’s investment portfolio, and leading budgeting, financial planning and cash flow management. She ensures compliance with contractual obligations, regulatory requirements, and oversees risk management processes. Jodie also contributes to sustainability initiatives and broader corporate responsibilities, including human resources and the management of other business interests.
Jodie’s career began with KPMG before transitioning to the commercial sector. She gained international experience in the treasury division of Credit Suisse First Boston in London, and has since focused her career in the not-for-profit sector in Australia. Her deep understanding of the sugar industry is both professional and personal, with strong family ties to cane farming in the Isis region and many years of service at CANEGROWERS.
She is a Chartered Accountant, holds a Bachelor of Business (Finance major), is a Commissioner for Declarations, and has completed the Corporate Governance Certificate through the Governance Institute of Australia.
