Elisa joined CANEGROWERS in 2021 as Environment and Sustainability Policy Officer, initially focusing on reef policy issues, before stepping into the role of Environment and Sustainability Policy Manager in 2025. She brings a blend of experience gained across both industry and government.

Before joining CANEGROWERS, Elisa built a strong foundation in plant biosecurity through roles with Biosecurity Queensland as a Biosecurity Officer and with the federal Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, where she worked on analysing and updating requirements for imported seeds. She then broadened her policy experience at AgForce, taking on the role of Transport and Workforce Policy Officer, before moving into her current position in the sugarcane industry.

Elisa holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Honours) and is committed to supporting growers through practical, forward-looking environmental and sustainability policy.
